Jamillah and Brandon were married on September 7, 2008, on the beach by the lava rocks of Oahu’s east coast. Their bamboo gazebo was draped in turquoise and light green with ferns and yellow plumeria, and everyone, from the bridal party to the guests, wore white.
A hula dancer entertained the guests before the ceremony and later taught everyone to dance on the sand. Brandon’s son Cameron made the day even sweeter, and before the wedding the couple explored the island on a photo tour: a sea cave, a hidden cove, the Nuuanu rainforest, Lanikai beach and the cliffs above the Pacific.

Getting ready
Getting Ready at the Hyatt
Jamillah got ready at the Hyatt on Oahu with her bridesmaids, laughing through hair and makeup, while the little flower girl played under the bride’s dress.
The setup
A Turquoise Gazebo by the Rocks
The bamboo gazebo stood on the sand by the lava rocks, draped in turquoise and light green and finished with ferns, hanging lanterns and yellow plumeria, with yellow petals along the aisle.
The ceremony
Vows by the Sea
Jamillah walked down the aisle to Brandon with the ocean breeze in her veil. The minister gave them a Hawaiian blessing, they exchanged leis and rings, and their family and friends cheered as they were pronounced husband and wife.
Hula
Everyone Learns the Hula
After the ceremony the hula dancer brought everyone onto the sand, and the bride, the groom and all the guests in white learned to dance the hula together.
The kids
Cameron & the Little Ones
Brandon played with his son Cameron on the rocks and the sand, lifting him high above his shoulders, while the children ran around the gazebo with their yellow flower bouquets.

Deep in the Nuuanu Rainforest
Then it was into the deep green forest of Nuuanu, among giant trees and tangled roots.

Lanikai, the Sea of Heaven
At Lanikai Beach they relaxed under the leaning palm trees on the white sand and splashed in the clear turquoise water.
